Hyde Park - Spurn Point

Take the highway to the end of the night
Go rolling onto eastern sand where wind
whips the salt into your face
Step outside and greet the sun
Hold the keys to freedom in your fist
Hum the tune that followed you to water’s edge
Raise your tired smile
Share with me that cold tangential light
Haunt me with your sunken eyes
Bring me hope that reckless beauty still exists

From a true story many moons ago. Also "Journey To The End Of The Night", influential book by Céline, that may or may not have influenced Jim Morrison, but earned me Brownie Points with the French boss of my Spanish language school. (Her name was Céline too! Just remembered that!)

Just found this poem of yours
Just found this poem of yours Kevin. I can imagine Jim Morrison finding inspiration from your words. Wonderfully mysterious and capture a moment in time.
I love the Doors music and Just played that track at 2.10am, it really works for me as did your poem.

Hi Kevin, Certainly music brings memories
This seem to have raised some fond and interesting memories. I'm sorry to say I could never get into the Doors, never really liked Jim's voice, but that doesn't detract from this excellent piece.
I think I might have a go at this. We'll see

I love :
I love :
"Catch the cold steel moment
of its brief tangential light"
and "reckless beauty"
It does have the exciting feeling of electric guitar notes flowing into each other, also of how everything seems super intense, including beauty, when you are very tired
great POD!
