Proverbs are the daughters of experience

To forget a wrong is the best revenge

The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom

Most of these proverbs are traditional, some originally came from William Blake.

They take quite a bit of thinking about. The first reminded me of Proverbs 25:21,22 in the Bible, where doing good to an enemy may shame him and do him good.

The second and third I felt must imply the words 'can' ie;To lose one's way [can be] is a way of finding it'

if we rightly gain from our mishaps! Rhiannon
