Worlds Apart

When I hear about people having to flee their country because of
poverty, wars or cruelty, it makes me feel so sad, but lucky to live
here in England.
Though times seem hard
give thought to human kind
with no plans or schemes;
symbol of hope is all they dream,
sailing on distant deep oceans
wishing under twinkling stars,
waking to taste a better life
self reliant need to survive,
like seeds men and women scatter
families such as your and mine,
but not quite...we people of plenty
richly graced with rooted freedom,
we're not held down alongside
real poverty or wars,
but kissed with natures
ever changing seasons;
where rambling hills give way
to valleys, rivers flow like
mothers lactos that brings
sustenance to the parched.
“There's no delay!” Hear parents say
as babies escape mamas womb,
into world tiny fingers clutching
needing nourishment of life unknown,
they who are already weak set out
glancing back at clouds of horror,
sadness of lost flesh and blood
these shepherds leading flock to
safer pastures without fear.

Good
Makes one think.
You do have a typo, as I am sure you are aware, with the word, "Lucky." Just letting you know in case it has gotten by you. I know, I have many that I don't catch before I post. I usually don't fix them here, once I post them, but do fix them on the original.
