Night Shine

She walked with me one night
Holding my hand
We counted the stars
We gave them names
The rain didn’t matter
The moon didn’t care
The headlights from cars
Made us blink
And I think
At that moment
I was in love
With you
Winter is a blade
That cuts so deep
I ignored this
Just to see you in my sleep
I recall every minute of that night
I can still smell your hair
I can still see your eyes
The years have flown fast
Since the goodbye kiss
Of all the things in this world
I still miss
You
