Just a silly Christmas Rhyme

at 2020's lock down time.

 

Now we're staying in alone

talking only on telephone,

 

good wishes in Christmas cards

now that families are barred,

 

but that's okay we're not bored

when there's trusty scrabble board,

 

me and partner's fun personality

he doesn't take life too seriously,

 

makes me laugh it's just his way

so bless us all this Christmas Day.

ah, thank you for reminding me of scrabble, Jenny. We do scrabble and courtdown puzzles every mealtime, but holidays we usually have a go at the proper game. My husband almost invariably wins by lots, it is his 'thing', but we have fun, and I can usually give him quite a game!

Ah yes, Scrabble - I just bought a new one as the tiles from our old game had chipped and worn and we'd lost the X somewhere? No one knows where or when it went missing but I think, due to its point value, it has been deftly hidden. I loved your sweet Christmas rhyme it speaks to happy moments shared and it made me think of family and fun this Holiday and that is always a nice thought to have.  So thank you for sharing and I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and will have a Very bright, healthy and happy New Year!

Hi Penny,

you know I'm surprised none of the letters have gone missing off our board, we not only play nearly every day, but also in the summer we play scrabble in the garden, we did loose a letter in among the shrubs, but luckily found it. 

Scrabble certainly keeps the mind alert, although we do have a scrabble book each to gain knowledge of new long words, we both use the book, so we're not really cheating. wink
