When stars sing their last song

Elevated to a higher reality,

Laced patterned threads sequin night;

Five points once cloistered...now

Gripped by beauty that swells everlasting,

Silence holding brightly shining proud against

Darkness,

 

No more waking sweetly between each gleam,

Blinking light overhanging...appearing delicate,

Gives study in gracious words: whispering of

Miracles, an endless balance of everything:

Treasured masterpiece of the heavens,

Veiled by dawning of day.

I love that opening line - 'when stars sing their last song'.  That's just so evocative, Jenny.

Hi airyfairy, 

I wrote this poem while listening to Enya's - Paint The Sky With Stars. It always reminds me of my dad, because it was his favourite record just before he died, we also played it at his funeral, so there's a lot of memories.

I just thought about how we're all made up of stardust and that's basically what inspired the poem.

Thank you Paul, I've been feeling really ill since my covid jab on Sunday, lots of aches and pains with cold shivers, headaches too. They say it's quite normal and is the body adjusting to the vaccine, but I hate feeling like this, so it was nice to read your kind comment.

This is really good Jenny. Great word choices throught. You have a great way of explaining things: "When stars sing their last song," and "veiled by dawning of day," really stuck out for me. Great job.
