Shiny Brown

Rain or sun
we’ll have fun
in the squelchy and squishy
jump and splash it thickly
melted-chocolate sticky
of the path in the wood today:
bluebells and running space and messy play
– washable trousers,
mackintosh bright
shower clean easily:
memories tonight.

Wonderful poem Rhiannon.
Wonderful poem Rhiannon. Lovely to see how the weather brings children out to play no matter what.
I loved the photo too, really gave me a smile.
Jenny.

This is lovely Rhiannon - and
This is lovely Rhiannon - and yes, a perfect expression of the undiluted joy of a muddy puddle (though I'm glad it's not me who had to wash that child afterwards )

Lovely, carefree days,
Lovely, carefree days, Rhiannon. You've brightened my afternoon - it is raining the proverbial cats and dogs here, but no lovely squishy mud to jump in!

That brought back memories :0)
That brought back memories :0) I imagined new washing machines quivering in terror as they came through our front door. But lovely at every stage, both the fun in the woods, then getting warm in the bath, then all cosy in clean clothes off the radiator. "Rain or sun/we'll have fun" is so true, there is always excitement and interest in woods when you are little, so long as allowed to be messy! You express it all so well

Rhiannon, Warm!
Rhiannon, Warm! My grandfather encouraged us to eat mud "it builds up their resistance". Yes and after rainshower mud dams on the street side. What wonderful world.
Enjoy the day! Tom
