Ah now there's a thing of
Ah now there's a thing of magic ... voices at Christmas, especially kids singing carols or those really haunting voices. When I listen to Enya singing O Come, O Come, Emmanuel it sends a shiver up my spine every time.
And the memories, like you say. Treasured memories of people singing, particularly those who normally don’t but whose inhibitions have been washed away by their annual small glass of sherry.
I don’t know if you like Enya, but I love her. Apparently I even have fantasies about her. But if you do, and you haven’t already heard her singing this beautiful Christmas song, then copy and paste this link into Google and you might understand what I mean.

Brilliant news!
Brilliant news!
Does your partner like Moya Brennan (Enya's sister) too?
I've had Irish music going on around me since I was born. There's loads of it that I really love but Moya and Enya are way up near the top of the list of favourites.
I'm glad the link worked. I didn't think it would.

The beauty of happy music in
The beauty of happy music in both, but in the former words!
O Come, O Come, Emmanuel has wonderful words. I clicked on that link, and I think she sings the first verse in english and then moves to the latin. If you did want to read the lyrics (english translation) they are at
