In-dig O, Earth, our slow whirled world 

here, find waiting flowers of Love

everlasting safe-kept all year

for  two weeks in May, every year

 

whatever you've done, or not

come to these woods, now, relearn trust

that Heaven still is,  must be right

for it's in you, now, seeing these

 

bells - indigo, as in rainbows

between blue and violet, glows

far from red,  symbol of romance

like blood or petals easy shed

 

but undimmed in memory held

as unforgotten, longed for touch

sky's colour, sprung from mud's dreaming

bluebells are proof joy comes again

I don't know how I missed this 'til now! You capture the wonder that suddenly fills the woodlands so amazingly, sky reflected flooding the floor sprung from mud's dreaming so achingly beautiful of shade. Rhiannon

My comment came out of reading your poem!

I wondered if you had the poem saved but private for a while? I've done that before now, and found it comes out when changed to public posting on the date first privately saved. Which can mean it gets missed if people have already scanned that day's postings. Rhiannon

Yes, that is what happened. I panicked when I looked in the Read list and it wasn't there :0) I should have re posted it but forgot and went looking for a photo instead

You must have gorgeous bluebell woods where you are? I know the ones here are a bit later though, from looking at dates on Pixabay

Yes in rainbows between blue and violet, it is a colour of royalty. And what a lovely wonderful colour, and there are butterfies and lilys and daisies flowers and gem stones and the far mountains shades of love and hard to capture.

Thanks your poem is captivating like indigo and heartening it makes one feel good.

Purple violet indigo it's all the same to me it's just the shades – violet is darker. Sorry I'm not always so romantic.

Please excuse me I was almost an engineer engineers tend to be very practical.

The thing about bluebells is that they're so hard to do justice. Their latin name is hyacinthoides non-scripta. When I looked up non-scripta in Google translate, it said "un written" which probably isn't about them being impossible to describe, but it's a good name :0) Photos can't really do it either, because can't catch the glow.  So, no, names of colours don't really help, Tom, I'm sorry, you have to see them? I know in South Africa there are the most amazing wildflowers, perhaps in the world, but we appreciate bluebells so much perhaps because we don't have such abundant colour? Rhiannon's comment above is a better way to understand.

It must be so good to be an engineer, able to fix things! Infinitely more useful than a wannabe poet!!!

The most famous indigenous flowers here are the proteas. Mostly unique to South Africa in the valleys and on the mountains. They are very hardy and keep for weeks when cut. I believe our national flower is the King Protea it is stunning. But sorry no purple or indigo!

PS. That photo looks to me like a weed that you get here. Yes wannabe mathematicians too they are a dime a dozen. Maybe there isn't something like that, a mathematician, or otherwise anyone is if you can add two and two. Poets also, “the cat sat on the mat” is a favourite poem or "I'm a poet and I don't know'it!” An engineer is harder you must change a light globe alone.
