Tir na nOg
By Paul McCann
I’m Pogue and from Tir NaNog I come
with songs and stories for everyone
You might hear me singing once again.
You might see me walking in the rain .
From the mists of time where life began
when music flowed around Ireland.
Handed down tunes through all of those years,
And ancient music still reappears
Forever young just children are
sailing in ships locked inside a jar
So much time to sing our cares away
And no one gets older day and day .
Everyone’s gone away like the swans
who flew away in lands far beyond
still I’m waiting here for their return
in a world with so much still to learn .
In this place so far beyond the sea
where flying horses can speak to me
In the land of Tir Na Oge I’ll be
With magic music below the sea.
