Don’t Hide from Love!

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
They hid when they realised their guilt,
ashamed, rather worried, they felt
God’s love they had lost, anger earned:
away from His presence they turned.
But God sought them out in His grace;
He called, though they hid from His face.
Though passing the blame, now distress
must bear. God would rescue and bless.
One day a descendant would live
defeat evil Satan, and save
a people from slavery to sin,
returning, received by the King!
So rather than hiding, now pray,
turn to Him throughout every day.
How pointless to think we can hide,
refusing such grace at his side!
cf. Genesis chapter 3 in the Bible
Tune: 88 88 eg Celeste (tune of ‘How good is the God we adore’) or Trewen 88 88 88 88

fruit of sin
Yes eating fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, having done both good and evil, it is the innocence and the disobedience to God. Not the act of eating even from the tree that is not it. It is about disobedience. It is not about the knowledge, it is about Good and Evil. In deeds and experienced and done, of both, not in the nakedness itself.
And even right from the start, Genesis, already is promised the Messiah, Jesus.
How great is our merciful and loving Father.
Have a great week Rhiannon! &&

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
