Love In The Mist

Sealed petals tenderly chaste,
endorsing ardent purity laced;
rambling shades swell blue,
lavender, pink and white,
enchanting gardens with
magnetic grace that's bright.
So full of colourful expression;
gives reason to smile for short
while, when passions are
sometimes touched by rain;
before the sun comes out again.
Masterpiece though transient,
unfurls its many virgin hues;
downpour wasn't heavy...just
enough to touch quintessence
of refreshing blooms in June,
embraced by clusters of misty
feathery green; like a piece of
art that should be seen.

They look very gentle and refreshing and dainty. I must do some research because I think I may be confusing them with cornflowers in our garden. Rhiannon

Some lovely lines and ideas
Some lovely lines and ideas here Jenny - Sealed petals tenderly chaste...the idea of magnetic grace...and passions determined by the rain and sun.
(I may well have to steal quintessence - what a charming word!)

Dear Jenny, this title of your inspirational poem hinting at passion and love has prompted me to write a piece about this flower in a different context. I always enjoy reading your delicate verses.

So pretty Jenny. Once you've got them, you've got them. The seedpods are as lovely as the flowers and the feathery green foliage is light enough to complement the blooms 'purity laced'. They are a piece of art and always refreshing to see them popping up wherever.

There's a wonderful coolness to them,isn't there? Your last line, about them being a work of art, made me think of pictures I have seen of the inside of the Blue Mosque?
This poem is a lovely Summer companion to your one about Hyacinths :0)
