Sir Mo Farah reveals he was trafficked to the UK as a child - BBC

“I'm not who you think I am”,
I read and immediately thought
that it was an elaborate scam.

This discovery reveals to me
Mo Farah could not have been
an early Somali refugee.

He says he was smuggled in
this country to work as a slave
and he is Hussein Adbi Kahin.

A situation he needed to sort.
His school gave him the chance
to excel at his chosen sport.

Athletics was a real lifeline,
success gave him peace of mind,
everything seemed to be fine.

But thinking of the painful past 
prompted him to admit it is time
to confess the truth at long last.

It is truly a tremendous shock
to read the news of this man 
who is as fast as a springbok.

It must have been so difficult for him to live with that secret for so long. Poor man. I'm glad he found his way to kind people eventually as a child, but I wonder how many other children didn't - and still don't

It must have been quite a burden to have kept silent all this time. Luckily he has captured the affection of the general public through his achievements and exemplary behaviour. It is shocking that slavery exists in so-called civilised societies

I think he'll be even more loved than ever now. He's been so brave to speak about it and maybe it will help children who are going through similar terrible situations. Nice to read this and your comments.
