Still Light

It was still light but a star pushed towards darkness,
like a wild flower refusing to stay in the earth,
above the city,
above the river,
cool in a pale blue sky,
it started to sing.
Night is coming,
but
I will be here,
first in the evening, last in the morning, as
Time and its shadows drift by.

What a wonderful poem
What a wonderful poem Catherine. I can't think how I missed this one. August is when I always sit in the garden at night and look out for shooting stars...will think of your poem and cherish that star...perhaps make a wish.
Jenny.

Sense of continuity
a resonance of life and universe in motion beyond our petty machinations. Optimistic.
best wishes
