M&S

Many Years ago, before I went to Marks and Spencer’s I would buy my bras from a bra shop. Each time I would be measured, it was good there but a bit dearer. When I discovered Marks and Spencer’s or M&S it was much better, for after I was measured, then I would just go to the one that I wanted on the shop floor, choose the colours I wanted and it would be a lot, cheaper than the bra shop, forever it seemed that they were £8 each, they did eventually go up but for the comfort and simplicity, it was still worth it.
I only went to M&S to buy my bras, nowhere else, it was value for money. Sadly, my local M&S closed down, I was genuinely gutted. That was about four years ago, and that was the last time I bought a bra from them.
Well, the years, have taken its toll, and the four bras that I had whittle down to three and then to two, as various parts started to unravel or go rusty. I decided to do the unthinkable and I decided to buy two from my local superstore, I made sure that they could be returned, I was unable to read the size on my very faded bra sizes and I couldn’t remember what size I was and in those four or so years had I changed? I bought two different sizes, I tried them on at home and even though they were two different sizes, they both seemed great, I was chuffed to bits, I decided to keep them. Even better, they were only £8 each.
I wore the first one, to work, and I found out, there is nothing worse than an ill-fitting bra, it was SO uncomfortable, it was hard to concentrate and I couldn’t wait to get home to take the thing off! The other one was even worse! Now I am stuck with two useless bras and still had two tatty bras, I would be very embarrassed if anyone was to see them. I decided to take action, there is a M&S near my favourite shop in a huge retail park five miles away, I decided, enough is enough, I would go to my favourite store then walk the short distance to the M&S and either book a fitting or have a fitting and buy some new bras, I would ask if I could be measured over my thin top as I was too ashamed.
I enjoyed my favourite shop, and I walked into the M&S and walked around for about three minutes, it was strange that there didn’t seem to be an upstairs, I couldn’t see any signs to see where lingerie was so I asked as Staff Member, “Please can you tell me where the bra section is?” She didn’t seem to hear what I said and she said, “Bar?” I said, “Bra section?” She said, “We don’t have a bra section here, we do not sell clothes,” I said, “OK,”. To say I was sad, was an understatement. I then got a basket, and thought while I here, I might as well buy a lovely selection of their various butters including my favourite goat’s butter.
Some of us women, we are missing out, on wearing the correct size bra, there is still a market for it, now I don’t know what to do.

Oh no poor you! There is
Oh no poor you! There is literally nothing worse than an uncomfortable bra! Could you order a few from M&S online and try them at home? I think they do free returns. You could probably make a guess at your size and buy a few slightly bigger/smaller just in case

I know exactly how you feel.
I know exactly how you feel. I always bought my bras from Debenhams, because the sales women were so helpful, no matter what size you were. Now Debenhams have closed down where I live, I find it impossible to get a decent bra, they all are either underwired which I hate, or don't fit properly. Luckily I still have my old trusty bras, but I don't know what I'll do once they go.
So many of the things I once loved don't exist anymore, which is so sad, and my motto has always been: why change something that doesn't need changing. I think Covid has a lot to answer for, it's ruined so many busineses and made life difficult for so many.
Anyway I'm sure we're not the only ones. Hope you do manage to find a well fitted bra, because there's nothing worse than being uncomfortable, especially when you have to work.
Take care.
Jenny.

Why not give up on bra
Why not give up on bra wearing.? I wear one when going out somewhere special or if I have a top made of a thin fabric. The freedom is quite energising, and more comfortable!

Hullo, did you know M&S do
Hullo, did you know M&S do online measurements, or even ones on the phone? If you type into google "UK how to measure for bra" M&S website is at the top, so lots of people must need this? If you go to the page, there is also an opton to do it by phone - all you need is your own tape measure.
