The Queen.

The Queen.
I have always loved the Queen. I have always loved to watch her on the telly on Christmas Day, 3pm will not be the same again.
I arrived at my cousin’s house yesterday, and as I walked into her house, they told me the sad news! I was shocked, I hadn’t expected it, and all I could say over and over again was, “I can’t believe it.”
The Queen has been my Queen all of my life. I know no one lives for ever, but it still hasn’t sunk in.
After, much later on, last night, I thought, whoever we are, there is nothing we can take with us. There isn’t a favourite item, it is all left behind for someone else, to enjoy or give away.
What also hasn’t sunk in, is that now we have a King. King Charles III. My little grandson, will only know King Charles III, but just as I have kept the memory of Princess Diana alive, in both my children, neither of them were born, at the point of her death, I will do the same for my grandson.
I will keep her memory alive.
Rest In Peace. xXx

Your piece shows the
Your piece shows the sensitive response to our late Queen's death. As with Diana, it's great that you are keeping Elizabeth's memory alive through your grandson. I expect his last fond memory of her will be the same as mine, that sharing of tea with Paddington Bear, when she smiles and pulls a sandwich out of her bag.
Thank you for sharing.
May she rest in peace.
Jenny.

You express so well what many of us are feeling, even those who do not consider themselves to be royalists in any sense, according to my reading of facebook comments etc.
