To Remember, or not …

I forgot.
Did I give it a slot
install
it in memory’s vault,
or not?
or was the fault
a failure to retrieve?
Did I choose to leave
it there to stay and decay,
sealed in ‘til rotten
and forgotten
beyond recall?
So what?
Can I bind
it with a code to remind
and notify,
an association that will ring it,
a trigger that will bring it
to mind,
and I’ll find
it return when needed?
endeavour to remember …
or let
my mind forget …
some things
ignored, not stored
no record.
