BEAUTIFUL.

I have known her since she was a baby. I first held her when she was a week old. Even then, she was SO beautiful, I remember thinking If I ever have kids, I hope they are as beautiful as she is.

She had beautiful skin, and beautiful hair, the Italians, who met her, my friends, declared, “She’s Italian, look at her hair and her skin.” But she was not Italian.

Her beautiful hair grew and grew, until it was past her waist. She was loved by all who knew her. Then she fell in love, and had a child. Her dad didn’t like him, he seemed to be in the wrong crowd.

Years past and then she had more kids. She was still beautiful, her kids were just like her, beautiful. Her own dad didn’t like him either.

Then recently, if found out through a trusted source, that he has been violent to her all of the time. Their kids have seen, his violence to their Mum, all of their young lives. It’s SO unfair!

The last time, that he attacked her, she had to go to hospital to get stitches. What did she tell the doctor and the nurses? “I was in a fight up town, this is how I ended up like this.”

That was bad enough, but worse still, they believed her! But it is not true. The ‘powerful’ man has controlled her for most of her life! This strong woman is now weak. She feels she has no worth.

It makes the few of us who really know, angry! But what can we do? She defends him. He thinks he is somebody, but he is nothing!

Some want to hurt him, but they would get into Trouble. It is so unfair, why are some people so cruel?

I hope it is not too late for her kids? They need help and their Mum too. How will it all end? Many women are killed each week, I really hope she is not one of them.

She needs to leave him, to pluck up the courage and just go! Her kids deserve better, she is too good for him. I wished she had never met him.

From being beautiful, she is now battered!
