Tickety, tickety, tock,

Tickety, tickety, tock,
all eyes upon the clock –
the hand moves straight,
time cannot wait
– and never can flick or turn back!
A second past midnight, and hear
laughter, a loud rousing cheer:
the old is past,
the new at last –
what will we encounter this year?
Tickety, tickety, tock,
no longer watching the clock:
and many pray,
as they wake each day:
the new year’s unveiling on track.

Keep well! Tom
