Wind and squelch and far views

Blasting wind on the Shropshire hills
squelching down beside the narrow wooded Lydehole Dingle
looking northwards over Cove Dale to Wenlock Edge and
further hills to north and further west,
gaunt January skyline trees
light clouds, clear views
blue and sun increasing
glinting on the waterlogged mulch and grass
inquisitive sheep,
loop around and up the slope again
stop to look back
earth so soft at edge of new crops –
lovely time, very muddy boots.

It's always nice to capture these moments in a poem, and you've charmed me with yet another of your rambles. Nicely done Rhiannon.

A highly visual and evocative, January hike. Felt like I was right there. Enjoyed, of course. Paul [Should that say "light clouds"?]
