Palm Sunday and Satan’s Own-Goal

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]

As prophesied, He on a donkey rode –
a humble King, but praised along the road;
but Satan stirred up jealous leaders’ scheme –
they spurned God’s Son, the One who would redeem.

But Satan’s plan was crushed at Calvary
for thus Christ gained for us the victory.
And earthly powers of conquest, wealth, and grandeur
and false religion won’t God’s purpose conquer.

So who will you support, and follow, serve?
Who will not fail you, your support deserve?    
Uncritically, do you join the throng
who shun victorious Christ whose love is strong?
