RESPECT.

So, for anyone lost at sea, it is sad. Over the weekend in the U.K. people drowned. I made sure that my children had swimming lessons when they were young. Meghan did most of them but decided she did not want to do the lifesaving lesson, although I was sad with her stopping before finishing the course, I knew she could swim, and that was the main thing. But been a lifesaver swimming still does not guarantee you will not drown in deep and dangerous waters. Firefighter Iain Hughes who was swimming for three charities, The British Heart Foundation, The Fire Fighters Charity, and Midlands Air Ambulance, hoping to raise £21,000. With the little boat near him, he disappeared and sadly drowned. The French and Belgium military helicopters plus navy and police patrol boats have looked for him, without success and have sadly called off the search. The money raised after his untimely death has gone past £21,000.
The Titan I was interested in the welfare of the five men on board and was sad to hear the outcome. I was sad for them. Sad for their families. I at the time, when we did not know how it was going to end. I believe it was on the second day, when it was big news around the world. I was pondering on the vastness of the seas, the oceans. We were told how deep the Titanic had gone down and laid at the bottom and how high up above sunlight shines and the huge whales and sharks how deep they swim. It was put into perspectives, how big it all is. As I sat deep in my thoughts.
It reminded me again, of God the Creator of it all. Mankind, we are SO tiny in the scope of things, the Earth, the Universe, the Seas. Mankind, thinks they have all the Power, but Mankind can not make Air, Oxygen, the Universe, the deep, Deep Seas. I was reminded how insignificant Mankind is. We cannot save ourselves. Without the right amount of air/oxygen we are kaput!
We can argue until we are blue in the face, but facts are facts!
Without His Sun and Rain, we are finished!
Realistically, some things are best left alone. Not meant for us to go there. The God of Heaven, made us and placed us on this beautiful Earth, to enjoy it. To also give Him thanks.
It reminded me, that we must RESPEST the waters. There are tons and tons of waters below us. It turned out, the owners, of the submarine, cut many corners, and did not listen to those with knowledge AND experience. The wrong materials were used, advice was ignored. The lists of mistakes, goes on and on. Lives were lost, they would have been alive today, IF they were given the FULL details. If they knew what we know now, they would not have ventured into the doomed Submarine. The father and son, got their tickets for a cheaper price of $150,000 each instead of $250,000 each. For the owner to simply state in the contract, “There is a possibility of death,” Really was not good enough, for the price they all paid, he should have told them more.
Thankfully lessons have been learnt already from the tragedy.
Iain Hughes. Rest in Peace. x

Hi Iain, a lovely and thought
Hi Iain, a lovely and thought provoking piece.
We are indeed tiny.
I lived on Morecambe sea front for some years, and the ocean is one of my favourite things. But she was a treacherous lady and every year people were taken on those waters. I loved watching her when she was angry, slate grey and monumental, but I knew never to take my eyes off her, and always show her respect.
