"Murky Waters"

Misleading words
Linguistic twists
Blur the lines
Between us
Ego aggrandized
Facts victimized
Truth obliterated
History manipulated
Tribe of like minded idiots
Spout false righteousness
Wield power where
Empathy is null and void
Tender hearts vilified
Brilliant minds scoffed
Writers silenced
Artists stifled
Vicious society
Denies the soul
Truth of self
And human rights
Unbalanced politics
Financial demigods
Crush dreams
And criminalize hope
But like a Pendulum
Swings
back and forth
in Light and Shadow
Hope struggles to survive
a world
of Perpetual flux
Ad Infinitum!

I hope we're swinging back
I hope we're swinging back into the light. Maybe not yet, Maybe not ever. But the hope sings in your poem.

I did feel for you, listening
I did feel for you, listening to a news program about America the other day. Our lot are pretty grim, too, falling over themselves to say how they want to put off transitioning to renewables, in between updates of forest fires. A heartfelt poem, wonderfully expressed - I loved "linguistic twists"!
