Life's Style

I can visit memories
of jostling shrubs with prickles
that shook me alive
in windy times;
Of a new-found cat I named JC
who adopted our fam-ily
& generous with her
purring;
Then an island
where a lake lapped wildly
& morning dew breathed heavily;
Saw the silence of a mother doe
on a soft summer trail
stretched proudly
as a Canadian flag in the wind;
And now a young lady grown
into a woman
claimed me with a flick
of an eyebrow - filling me
with heartfelt love.

Memories can be as precious
Memories can be as precious as the present. Sometimes even more so.
We should create more of them every day because sadly some of them fade... like a flag in the wind.

One glance,
One glance, one flash of your chain,
Beautiful Richard, timeless, your last verse, Thou hast ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; thou hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, with one chain of thy neck – From Song of Songs
