[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]

God made me an ear
and with it I hear
such music, friends’ speech.
Do I listen, consider
remember and ponder
when God’s Word men preach?

God made me an eye  –
such beauty I spy
but also can read:
I’ve books and the best
with which I am blest
is God’s Word to heed.

So glad of my ear
with which I can hear,
 – rejecting the bad,
but listen with care
to troubles friends share,
and words of my God.

The God who made ears
my every word hears  -
do I speak as I should?
Your Spirit, I pray
to cleanse all I say,
so it may do good.

Does he who planted the ear, not hear?
Does he who formed the eye not see?Psalm 94:9
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. Revelation 2:7

We have had a rather difficult heatwave here, but the rain has come today, and welcome!

Yes, we are all guilty, but it is grace to recognise that,and want forgiveness and help by his Spirit to speak more edifyingly! Rhiannon
