For Louise Glück
Blagdon Lake in Winter
Silver skies. Ephemeral light
glints on Blagdon Lake.
The geese are gone now.
I hear echoes of wind chimes
Dreams lured in quiescence.
Snow falls as silent wonder
Forests ice-pines in winter’s embrace.
We watch the distant water.
Thoughts of Christmas….
And tell stories wordlessly as a storm
Gathers.
Pic is my own

In Bulgaria some of our geese
In Bulgaria some of our geese are still here but the lakes have just about gone. Will we ever have rain again?
Nice poem! I enjoyed reading it.

A lovely little evocation of
A lovely little evocation of the scene, yet leaving plenty to imagination and filling in of a story, or stories. (wropping a thick jacket around myself!) Rhiannon

Love, 'wordlessly as a storm'
Love, 'wordlessly as a storm'. The magic of the lake, communicated softly in your poem. I googled it and now I want to visit.
