bombing your moral high ground
(won at such terrible cost)
must always be a tricky manoevre to pull off -
before you know where you are, history is
looking down at your success
and finding a new word to describe shame
in allowing an unimaginable horror
to happen again

There is a constant darkness
There is a constant darkness in my mind at the moment.
Occupation, oppression, apartheid, genocide, inhumanity and, as you said, shame are the words I think of. But a shame deeper than any that has gone before as we sit back and allow this happen.

Conflict eternal with man's
Conflict eternal with man's inability to exist in peace, to leave ego out of the equation, talk as equals and allow for differences and feel the precious connection of humanity we share. Refuse hate and live and let live, that should be simple but here on earth, it isn’t. My heart breaks for the pain, loss and irreversible death of innocence everywhere.

A good poem to describe the
A good poem to describe the truths of war. The moral high ground is soon lost as your warmaking/bombing finds many more victims than the original attack against you. Then who is the war criminal? (And who started it all in the first place?)

whatever is imaginable we've

IMO....
This poem should be attached to the Pilots cockpit check list, before engine start sequence.
After all, with all the high tech hardware flying, drone surveillance, SAT comm`s, GPS targeting... This piece might give a Pilot with a 'Dumb Bomb`' a sense of 'situational awareness' before an attack vector closing in on a densely inhabited compressed urban slum.... if it was on the pre-mission flight check list......
Just say'n*
