Colours of Christmas

It’s December 1st….I’m declaring it Christmas…
Colours of Christmas
Dreams made of cinnamon,
nights of ice,
tree-light dancing
on frosted panes.
Snowfall. Boughs hung heavy.
We hurry, wrapped
like presents on Christmas Eve;
silent sun setting in
a tenebrous sky.
Orange-russet hue
marking dusk-fall,
sapphire shadows of home.
Dancing array of colours
cast silhouettes.
We listen and hear
Songs of winter.

Very Christmassy! One thing - do you mean bows or boughs? (it could be either I guess)

Muppets Christmas Carol is
Muppets Christmas Carol is always our Christmas Day after lunch treat. Last year my daughter and I went to a screening with full orchestra and the audience singing along. We still watched it on Christmas Day though, despite the fact we were at my son's, with his Swedish in-laws. And we had our own singalong!
Lovely festive poem, Paul.

Gosh, even for a Christmas
Gosh, even for a Christmas curmudgeon like me, this is very charming. Lovely images, love how it's been punctuated, makes for an interesting and evocative read. The only line I would edit is the wrapped like presents one, maybe a comma needed? Could just be me though, but I found myself reading it twice and stumbling a bit. But anyway, anyway, lovely bit of writing which manages to avoid all cliché which isn't at all easy with a Christmas poem. It's our Pick of the Day. Do share on social media.

Perfect and beautiful.
Perfect and beautiful. Restraint, just enough details. It's like a perfectly decorated tree, all the decorations spaced and the colours, vibrant, not too much. A mid-winter day illustrated in words.
