Noah's Ark

Noah explained why
he didn't take the aardvark
on his already overfilled
and fragile wooden ark.
Even if there was room
it would seem like a joke
If female married animals
mingled with a single bloke.
He had worked very hard
to ensure that no troubles
would occur and therefore
he'd only allowed couples.
The rough sea worried him
but didn't expect any strife
from his large menagerie
whose aim was a safe life.
Yet his method didn't work
and wasn't of any use
when arguments started
that led to domestic abuse.
Now Noah wishes to have
left behind the fox shark
guilty of hitting his partner,
and said yes to the aardvark.

(minor point; maybe typo on: 'whose ain wes a safe life' ?)
