The Great Exchange!

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
The One who had no sin at all
took on our sin to save us,
and so he bore its judgement full –
his righteousness he gave us.
Oh, what exchange astounding!
Such mercy, grace abounding!
And so he views us clean as though
we’d never sinned at all:
no guilt, forgiven, so much we owe,
and long to tell and call
to those around, ‘Be reconciled,
receive the grace in Christ supplied’
Tune: CM+ eg ‘Glory’ in John Curwen’s tunebook, tune of ‘Around the throne of God in heaven’
'We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.' 2 Corinthians 5:20,21

To God be the glory!
To God be the glory great things he hath done!
So loved He the world that he gave us his Son
Who yielded his life an atonement for sin
And opened the lifegate that all may go in
Praise the Lord praise the Lord, Let the earth hear his voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice!

People say Jesus died
People say Jesus died on the cross for our sins for you and for me, said with great joy. To be honest I don't think it is something to be happy for.

Yes as you say
Yes as you say, and I am also glad. And let us not forget Good Friday, the holiest day of the Christian Calender, a sombre day of sorrow and mourning. Easter Sunday is of joy and victory, thankfulness and praise and peace.
In the end depends on the context? Tom

Those words are like northern stars.
Pointing one back to their first love. What a great price. What a significant cost. To know the grace we've received is not a cheap Amazing Grace,
