Fifteen Years.

It came up on my mobile phone early this morning that there was a serious incident in London. I did pause for a moment to think what would make it a serious incident.
Then about an hour later we were given more information, a man had attacked people with a sword. That is very serious indeed.
It was later sadly confirmed, that a child had been killed! This morning, they said he was thirteen years old, but with the updates he was only fourteen years old.
He was just starting out in life, fourteen is no age at all.
Tonight, I heard more details, four people had been also hurt, two of those were the police.
Surely, when someone has a deadly weapon like a sword, he as a huge chance of doing major harm. With a sword, the other person can be easily reached, even if the innocent person or police were to hold their hand out, they are no match for a sword.
I grew up with a saying in my culture, “Two long hands,” Which means, “Nothing in your hands.” How can the police be hurt, facing an angry man with a sword? They got hurt, it could have been one hundred percent worse, they too could have been killed!
The taser eventually worked, they should have shot him on sight! Today, a boy is dead, two police are in hospital and two members of the public.
Sadly, now he will get just fifteen years in jail, if the victims are lucky, but he will be out in seven years for good behaviour.
He will have a very comfortable life in our British jail, his family will go and visit him and he will not have to worry about paying any bills for a few years.
That is not justice!
Rest in Peace to the young lad.

RIP indeed. Police do not
RIP indeed. Police do not carry guns. That is a good thing. Shooting a man dead is an emotional and understandable response to what is a tragedy. If it was my family, I'd certainly want him shot dead. But our laws are above emotions. Rightly so. All the other stuff about prisons is to my mind nonsense.
