Holding Onto My Desires And Dreams

Dear diary...new beginnings,
expression sagacious as this
wisdom prevails, cutting
through deep emotional peaks
of sickness. When all of nature
smiles with gratitude, I take
my leave till summer pollen's
blown away, then I can feel
gratitude that everything
happens for a reason.
Occasions of obstacles making
an appearance produces patient
strength. My existence shows
me I should not fear or be
disheartened. Was it that inner
voice sending me on the road
to recovery? Invisible energy
from a guiding hand and gentle
smile of understanding.
As the pages then turn on my
life, into my seventies a
swirling mix of emotions
breeze through like the wheat
being blown – gusts that sweep
this way and that, reminding
me of traveling gypsies,
always wandering, never in
one place for long.
I will devour each day and stay
steadfast, unfettered...holding
onto my desires and dreams.

The Swingin' Seventies
Dear Jenny.
I hope you find happy and rewarding times in your seventies. Save a place for me. I'll be in them soon, possibly accompanied by some travelling gypsies.
And whenever it was, I hope you had a lovely time on your birthday and the world was kind to you and it wasn't the worst of your illness days.
Good on you!
Turlough

"Here we have no abiding city" certainly, And we can have a Father's guiding hand and a fixed and steady purpose and pace, trust and patience in the troubles of life if we turn to Him for it. Rhiannon

This comes across as reflective, Jenny. Maybe you have crossed the border to a new phase of your life.
Your talent for writing consummate poetry burns as brightly as it ever did.
Just a lovely, meaningful poem :)
