Once I was a glit in my fathers eye
A part of both my parents constitutions
And one day I shall be Ashs or a corpse
Though Hopefully not today or tomorrow
All our Atoms
Are a reformation
And our existence is our own personal regency
We are part of a kingdom
The linage of which of extends back
Into the mists of time
In Deep time
the building of the pyramids was only yesterday
As if the whole history of the world was but a calendar year
We have only came down from the trees on a minute to midnight on December 31st
Such is the brevity of our stay on earth
The branches of our family tree
Include everything that swims, flys ,crawls or is rooted in the ground
The common ancestor I share with
The queen ant
The loin and tiger and bear
And the humble worm, dung beetle and the tree
Going further back all my constituent atoms
Were fused with in ancient stars which were dead or dying when our sun was born
A cosmic birth with out a midwife
What a strange way to be born
With nearest siblings light years aways
Our lives are brief
And “rounded with a little sleep
But in that sleep what dreams may come”
The whole menagerie of life
Of sights and sounds I shall not behold
But others shall
Each creature leaves a mark upon the earth
their impact could be great or small
But everyone’s a tale to tell
Inside the greatest story of them all
The history of us all

I thought your message was
I thought your message was most deep and meaningful, it makes you realize how lucky we are to be here, and to be able to leave our mark as you said.
It certainly resonated with how I feel.

"All our Atoms
"All our Atoms

And our existence is our own personal regency"
The history of us all, for sure.
A sweeping, thoughtful poem. Nicely done.
[Should that be "The lion and tiger and bear"?]
