[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]
They saw his glory – brilliant bright,
and soon all will behold the sight.
Before that time, the sun must hide
while Jesus suffered, bled and died.
Glimpse of his glory, glory great:
Him we can trust, his coming wait.
Upon the mount the Father’s word
acknowledging his Son was heard.
But while Christ on the cross bore sin,
no voice honoured the dying King.
Glimpse of his glory, glory great:
Him we can trust, his coming wait.
His body broken: not ‘til risen
would understanding come, and wisdom –
beginning of awareness, awe
of what his suffering had been for.
Glimpse of his glory, glory great:
Him we can trust, his coming wait.
The three then told of what they’d seen
upon the mount, but now their theme:
the amazing glory of the Lamb
fulfilling thus redemptive plan.
Glimpse of his glory, glory great:
Him we can trust, his coming wait.

Matthew 17:1-13 in the Bible. Christ’s glory shown before he undertook the suffering on the cross, which involved his bearing the punishment for us as if he was the sinner. Afterwards the Father showed how great his glory for having fulfilled that suffering. It could not be acknowledged while he was undertaking it.

For a moment I thought it is Easter but I saw it is only August! Not Christnmas either. The story is told beautiful in your poem/hymn in such lovely verse. Excellent.
The second coming is to be in the same way, from the clouds and in physical body, the Bible is clear about that. And every person will see Him
You are certainly becoming one of our best writers, keep it up!
Have a wonderful Sunday! Nolan &
