On Becoming Human Again

Oh goodness, how I wish
that the Russians, or Chinese
or North Koreans, or whoever
would take out all the mobile
networks so that everyone you see
in the street, on the bus, on the
train, in the pub, in cafes and
restaurants, in their homes,
in their cars, on their bikes,
in their beds, in their toilets
could together go into
spontaneous meltdown because
the glass rectangle in their hands
had finally died
swipe - nothing
swipe - nothing
swipe - nothing
swipe - nothing
and all they were left with
was having to interact
with each other in
person and
the fucking
world.

Not everyone Harry. Your idea sounds good to me, because I like interacting with people, though as I get older I do feel a lot of anxiety when around too many people.

Jenny and you and me :0)
Jenny and you and me :0) Though I would really miss the internet! I wonder how long AI scams would continue after all humans have gone, scratching away for centuries. Would fake news evolve, till the person it had been aimed at became as unrecognisable as a tyrannosaur from a blue tit

The fu
"the fucking world" and "in their toilets" sounds a bit drastic, there has to be some measure of privacy. I suspect a camera in my toilet, under the water even.
Well, ignorence is bliss. Cheers! Tom

On the bus
Good stuff HarryC!
I read your poem on my 1968 Post Office Telephones lime green trimphone. I was the only person on the bus that had one of these so everyone stared. But it took their faces away from their glass rectangles.
