Good finish

                           Thursday, morning after Milton had passed.

             Our electric power went out at 7 A.M this morning.(Thurs.) We suited up and then hit the gym. Afterwards, we looked for coffee. No coffee shops were open. The area around us looked like a ghost town. The traffic lights were out at several intersections along Rte. #41. It made driving interesting. Later that morning, we drove South  towards Naples in search of coffee and food. There were literally no stores open. It was 86 degrees, hot and sunny. Except for leaves and tree branches, scattered along the roadways, you would never know that a deadly hurricane had just passed. That afternoon, we cooked up some chili on an outside gas grill for dinner.

Later that afternoon, Mike and Roxie Gengler, friends from Milwaukee, invited us down for drinks and a few hours of “cool.” It felt wonderful. It was a nice gesture on their part. The day was cooling, as night approached. We had all of the windows open and there was a light breeze. It was pretty comfortable. We read by book lights and retired early.

At 9 P.M. the lights snapped on ! We closed up all of  the windows, cranked up the air conditioning and were again thankful for the work of those gallant linemen, who restored the comfort of Air Conditioning. It was a nice close to the day.

We were also thankful for all of the many supportive comments from friends and family. When the effluvium impacts on the rotary oscillator, you are appreciative of all the support that you get. Our thanks to y’all. You made a difficult experience a lot easier for us to get through.
