Elvis.

I remember the total shock when I heard that Elvis had died! There was shock around the whole world! It was the Biggest news, and also watching his funeral on telly. Remembering that he had also died the same age as him beloved Mum age just 42. I used to love watching his concerts, watching as he was first slim and then put weight on. It was Very sad. Over the years since his, death, I have watched many programmes and concerts and documentaries, about him. I love all his songs, I thought I had heard all of them, until one came out and went, I believe to the top of the charts that I had never ever heard before! I love the video of it, that song, is called, ‘A Little Less Conversation’ What a Fantastic song.

This was proper music; they don’t make them like this anymore. For me Elvis IS my favourite male singer of all time! Whitney is my favourite female singer of all time. My Mum has heard of Elvis, even though she has dementia, she still knows of Elvis. That is because he is famous and known around the world.

Yesterday, when breaking news popped up on my phone that Liam Payne from One Direction had died, I knew the name, but if I was shown a picture of all of them in the band, and was asked to point him out, I would not be able to; nor do I know all their Christian names or surnames. They are famous, I don’t know how famous, I don’t know if they are known around the world. I can’t tell you one song that they sang.

I screenshot it, and text it to my daughter Meghan, she texts back, “OMG!” Then I suppose as it got around the world, 15 minutes after it was first made known, it would have been trending, on social media!

My Mum has never heard of One Direction nor Liam Payne, and like a friend of mine on Facebook she is a musician, she says, “I wasn’t a fan, but sorry to hear of his passing,” I added, “Neither was I.”

Instantly, there has been SO many theories, Drugs, Ex-girlfriend, Suicide, Murder! I said, to another friend today, “I hope it wasn’t suicide, and I hope it wasn’t murder!” Death is not pretty, especially as he fell from the third floor.

I think of his young son Bear, age just 7.
