The radiator clicks reassuringly

filling the room with blanket warmth.

The dog snores on the couch.

Outside the mist thickens around

trees now faded charcoal drawings.

Even on this work day sound is

fogged into a ghostly traffic mumble.

The stillness is hypnotising me

into brewing another cup of tea.

I guess the best thing about mist is that it at least make cold day beautiful. Last evening there was a low mist descending over the fields behind the apartment. It was stunning.
