His beginning, her beginning:

Two little cells with half the code
from him and her combining –
a new unique live human has begun,
ready to grow, develop, age!
A *five week heartbeat,
at seven weeks;
face beginning to appear,
and the following week little legs
and movement starts of the tiny life;
then the eleven week milestone –
looking already like a fully formed person
organs, fingernails, teeth developing,
the little girl’s ovaries forming,
and the body growing in size,
so the head doesn’t seem so large.
Unique fingerprints very soon,
and sometimes thumb-sucking!
Blood vessels and muscles develop
movement testing, hand flexing,
facial expressions.
By four months lungs and kidneys working
and eyelashes, eyebrows grow–
soon the little one can hear Mum’s voice.
Hormones and sense-nerves,
lungs, skin and brain
continue to develop,
for life outside –
(and soon the child can survive if born early) –
and then the wonder of birth …
and what an unseen
quick, immediate engineering feat:
circulatory changes complete,
lung function, waste management –
in totally new (re-)arrangement
co-ordinated, neat!!
A long protected journey
of incredible development
to
a new beginning
for each new unique person!

Great things
Great things have small beginnings, a human from a single cell, a nation from two people? Ideas are seeds that grow to gigantic trees. The simplest ideas grow to the greatest knowledge. Like inventing the wheel or harnessing fire or a telephone or light bulb.
All the best, Rhia & Nolan

The miracle of life has been
The miracle of life has been explained very well in your poem Rhiannon. Very appropriate for the I P response.
