A glittering distraction.
She melts by candle light.
The romance of seclusion.
Serenity insane.
Bruised by the addiction -
to see her once again.
To steal corrupted glances.
To breathe the perfumed air.
Formidable and delicate.
Eternally nowhere.
The grace of summer shadows.
Such subtlety I crave.
I'll take her invitation -
to an early grave.
The consequence of our love.
Bonded though apart.
Severed by reality.
Deluded from the start.
Perfectly imperfect.
I hold the image true.
Alone with my rejection.
A table set for two.
A flickering appraisal.
Extinguished candles die.
A slave to fading memory.
On such, I must rely.
