The Last Big Weekend of the Summer
Has left me lying awake
On the shore of an Island
Sun baked and drying
Salt crystals are slowly set free
Swept up here yesterday morning
On a tide that ran East to West
Laying here, I see the Storm coming
But with movement
I am not blessed
The wind is slowly mounting
Dark Thunderous clouds drift closer to me
Streaks of rain
Come tumbling down
And cool me in my grief
Now I feel the rage of nature
Around me left and right
She's given me a choice
But I no longer rejoice
As I am swept back out to sea
Slowly I sink to the bottom
Of the petulant water around
It's calm down here
And I don't have a care
So to it's here I rest under the sea.
