Shared breath

it's ten years
since we first
(dare I say it)
came together
kissed

slow motion

so that emotional and physical distance became
replaced by close proximity

imagine that!

there's nothing wrong with separate rooms these days
preceded by a peck
as we shudder headlong into serenity

though sometimes it might take longer than is normal
even through closed eyes
for me to sleep
and know contentment

wondering which of us slides first into the ocean
