Incomplete
the day I really lost you
my heart felt old and worn
cold as the coldest ash
in the coldest grate
and the wood's all gone.
that night I dreamed you were my favourite coat
left behind in the metal cupboard.
the feel of you
gone
woke me in a sweat.
we lost each other.
but I remember the soft ampleness we made
our two souls dancing
we were our
own religion.
we glimpsed something.
we did.
I remember.
