Questions

Speak to me of men and mice,
of faith and virtue, fate and vice.
Is pain the teacher or the price -
we pay to point to Paradise?
What of those who cheat or steal
must we earn our every meal?
What can we know, or think, or feel,
to help us on this fiery wheel?
Is love the tester or the test
for those who strive to be their best?
How can it help us in our quest
to salve the pains of godly jest?
Is there reason to the Rhyme,
can the ridiculous become sublime?
Must we be singers all the time
or may we sometimes only mime?
Will we spread out into space
give alien lands a Human face?
May we choose the time and place
we exit from the Human race?

There are more answer than questions
but which ones will we take?
If we get the answers wrong
what difference will it make?
Perhaps the biggest question
is what's it all about?
Only God can answer that
of this I have no doubt!
