I am tired of writing love poems
Writing about how it feels
To be held
To be kissed
To be loved
To be to be to be?
Maybe I'd rather write about
Blood and Paper cuts
Like the time I tripped and fell
And hit the ground so hard
That I ripped my jeans.
But no one really cares about that?
So maybe I should write about
World peace, the flowers and the good things?
But then I'd have to admit that
The Flowers and The Good Things
Was really the name of a band,
That my friend sings for?
And then I'd feel low
For trying to rip that off?
Or should I write about the injustices
That I will one day abolish from this world?
Like racism, dogmatism, and any other -isms that are bad
(Cause I really can't think of any more?)
But then I'd have to become the president of the World
To be able to do that?
And they don't employ women as presidents much these days?
Which reminds?maybe I should have a go at sexism too?
Cause Joan of Arc shouldn't have been burned at the stake.
But really?
Writing about love
Is so much easier?
