Crayons
Wake up to lines on the legs
The sun painting its rays on me
A colored day
Coffee black is my first pick
Pour the white sugar in twice
Swirl to get brown
I rise like the earth
The caffeine revs up my vibrant soul
Morning's bliss when you find the palettes in place
The day's set the tone,
My body's still white,
The grass still green
My hair a mohagany brown
Yesterday's memories now a light pink
But they used to be red
These lines on my legs
My eager crayons
Beginning today's wax slate
A world of crayons galour
for me to fill
From sun to body
