Park thoughts #1

A coarsish, sunbleached
Grassy horizon
Trees. Youthful and long standing alike
Punctuate the dwindling numbers
Of variously paced visitors
Drummer. Shirt off. Weaving
From side to side
Gathering his momentum
With a circular stride
Unruly children, scwalling
Above the voices of
Good natured parents
Tempered by the last of the summer sun
Sharing ice-creams
Following squirrels
With
Their
Gaze
Their charges running around the old toilet block
Like it were a jungle maze
Lying belly down
Feet pointed upwards
Then folded to the ground
I then listen to my soul
Unsated
But somehow content
With now
I dredge my being for some sense of courage
To displace
An unsure, uneasy
Complacency
Which has no place with me
