She Drinks

She bathes by the twinkle
Of a tear and only at night ' she drinks
Her exhaustion, not his
The one was never meant to be
missing. Microfibres
lie with her now.
Alight with the wash of her wine
Heavy Rioja carves her a piece
Of light entertainment ' she laughs
Like an echo, runs over the soap
Sliding down her body and she thinks
Just once on another who would have handed her the towel
she reaches for.
Fingers loosen
Then she drinks
