As I Lay

I catch my breath and feel it so well
For temptation has begun to swell
You cast your eyes with a grace so strong
I am caught in its balance as my senses have gone
I watch, so still, and try to find
The ties to reason that have rested in mind
For, it is, that you have burned me deep
And such wounds are made and simple to keep
So why do I lay and find myself lost
In wait for your warmth as our bodies are crossed
How am I swept with false promises made
I am shaken, feel weary, and my paitence is frayed
Yet as you falter, I will remain, so long as I can
For I have never seen such hope in the make of a man
Your touch makes amends with all that I have to show
And through the skin of your wonder, I will lay just below
