Forgiveness

And seeing their faith, he said, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee. (Luke 5:20)
Those whited sepulchres would never let me through the rattling.
I was never at peace on the floor
and learned to hate
the way they kicked and scoffed.
My faithful clambered to the roof
winched me aloft between their shoulders
I had given up on myself, yet they still asked
And the sins came to mind
from too many years before
yet the pit of my stomach had never forgotten.
I started to cry as I looked up
through the hole they had made,
to the straw edged light blue
the ascension of larks.
